As you might know, one of the entries (#6) on my 101 things to do in 1001 days list is to "watch 10 so-called classic movies." Up until Sunday, I had made zero progress on this task so when I decided to watch a movie, I figured it was high time I went for an oldie. The film I chose is called "Manhattan" and it's a black and white film from 1979 starring Woody Allen and and a bunch of famous females, including Meryl Streep, Diane Keaton, and Mariel Hemingway. For the most part, I wasn't too inspired--it's filled to the gills with the usual, and sometimes annoying, Allen banter -- but one thing I did love were the actresses. All the women were perfect exemplifications of broho style--feminine and attractive but with a hint of tomboy influence. I mean look at Meryl's born-again trendy maxi skirt and button down combo. It's exactly what I wish I were wearing now..34 years later. Enjoy!
