Cuyana Summer Turkey Collection 2013

As you might remember, this past March my family and I spent a week in Turkey, visiting with my brother who was in Istanbul for the semester. We had such a wonderful time exploring the beautiful city and the Turkish people were extremely hospitable and friendly.  As political protests continue to bring uncertainty to the area, I wanted to take a moment to remember everything that I loved about that trip.  The sights, the people, the exploration.  This video--the summer campaign from clothing and accessory company Cuyana-- does the perfect job illustrating the beauty of this country and makes me immediately want skip back across the ocean to do some further wandering (dressed in their perfect clothing, obviously).

So what's the deal with Cuyana? Well, first and foremost, Cuyana means 'love' in Quechua, the language spoken by the native people of the Central Andes, and secondly, it's a retail company with the wonderful business motto, "one of a kind accessories, one country at a time."  English, please?Essentially what this translates to is the release of one new collection per season, that is inspired and produced by a designated country.  Summer 2013 is Turkey (see above), but past collections include Mexico, Argentina, and Japan.  Aside from being ridiculously, ridiculously good looking, all offerings are locally sourced, well made, and carefully curated to leave you with a beautiful, but ultimately less cluttered closet.  The end result? A compilation of clothing and jewelry that I want to own in its entirety, from fringe trimmed coverups, to fedoras and beyond.  Enjoy.
