Disclaimer--I am very bad at keeping up with the news.  Be it worldly, national, or local I always find myself behind on current events, particularly those unrelated to fashion and/or too complex for a 140 character Twitter summary. I am so bad, in fact, that I had to make "Read the news more often," a 2013 New Year's Resolution (one that I am still working on fulfilling, might I add).

That's where The Skimm comes in.  The Skimm is a daily (Monday thru Friday) email service that delivers colloquial summaries of the day's most noteworthy events...right to your inbox.  After using it for approximately three weeks now, I can tell you that it is a gamechanger. As soon as I wake up in the AM--I scroll through, reading up on everything from NCAA tournament results to North Korea's insanity to the developments regarding the Boston bomber suspects.  Described in layman's terms with links back to the original articles, its a quick read that provides just enough background information to keep me from looking like a complete idiot whenever anyone mentions Kim Jong-un.

So you're interested? Sign up here and get to reading.  Trust me, I feel smarter already.
